Today
in the early twenty-first century, the community of Frankford is
experiencing a revived sense of appreciation and concern for what remains
of the tiny community so representative of other pioneer settlements
across north Texas.
There are other historic cemeteries, and a few Prairie Gothic churches
left in North Texas but few sites that can give a visitor a real sense of
the natural beauty of this land that the Native Americans and pioneers
experienced. The creek, the windmill and cemetery provide a serene
backdrop for the focal point of the site, the simple little church that
has meant so much to so many through the years.
Frankford
Cemetery Association is currently in the process of restoring the old
church on the property to its 1897 beauty. We desire to preserve our
little piece of "prairie in the city" as a place of tranquility
and respite, a place for contemplation, and a place to remember days of
long ago when this community was in the making. If you would like to
donate to this cause, we will appreciate and wisely use your gifts.
Gifts can be made at any time - in a lump sum, over the
course of several years, or from an estate. You may make a gift
online with your credit card at Frankford
Cemetery Association Fund or send your check payable to Frankford
Cemetery Fund at Communities Foundation of
Texas 5500 Caruth Haven Lane, Dallas,
Texas 75225.
Contributions are tax deductible.
